Adele MacVeagh Bourne earned her BA from Bryn Mawr College, attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education, moved to Washington, D.C., worked for a U.S. Representative, and then for GWETA’s first educational television program, Time for Science. She married, had three children, moved to New York, divorced, worked for the World Law Fund and then taught English, theater, and directed the arts program at the same private school in Bedford, NY, she had attended as a child. She also completed her MA at Columbia Teachers College, then luckily remarried and moved with her new husband, John Setliffe Bourne, a computer whiz as well as a fellow poet, to Moorestown, NJ, where they lived for the next 38 years.
